I ended up mounting the pickup to the body after the top loader screws stripped out. Maybe another pickguard is next.

I took it to a machine shop that drilled the holes for the strings nice and straight and also countersunk the ferrules. They did a nicer job than Fender does.

The original 500k Ohm pots were made so cheaply. As I was pulling the volume knob off of the shaft the pot broke. The tone pot was already broken.

It made it's maiden voyage on a two hour trip to Isleton, CA. Had some scary moments with the strong winds on the Antioch bridge but it did alright. Coming home it had some trouble with the Sunol Grade but it made it home safe. The RV in the background belongs to one of our friends. Hers is an '81 Field & Stream.
